Welcome two of our new artists during Pittsfield’s Artswalk!

This Spring, NUarts welcomes Marion H. Grant and Brent Ridge to NUarts. Both artists will be showcasing works at NUarts’ Open Studios during Pittsfield’s First Fridays Artswalk on Friday, May 6th from 5 to 8 pm, along with many other artists of our second floor cooperative – such as Caroline Kelley, Ilene Richard, Myk Daigle, Sally Tiska Rice and Shany Porras, to name a few. Come visit us in person and discover an eclectic mix of new art in a variety of media. You can find us at the corner of North and Union in downtown Pittsfield.

Marion Grant returns to NUarts after a recent move to Pittsfield. She creates hand-made torn paper collage, found object relief panels and “cold” finishes on pinched pottery with layers of crayon, wax, and acrylic washes. Learn more about Marion at https://nuartsgallery.com/artists/marion-grant/.

Brent Ridge is a multimedia visual artist investigating the post-industrial landscape in abstract paintings. Born and raised in Flint, MI, he lived in New York City before moving to the Berkshires. Learn more about Brent at https://nuartsgallery.com/artists/brent-ridge/.

Caroline Kelley (Studio 11) will be showing new abstract and semi-abstract paintings and drawings.

Shany Porras (Studio 12 & 19) will be showing abstract paintings that visually translate music from different genres. Originals and prints will be offered at a range of prices great for unique gift-giving and collecting.

Sally Tiska Rice uses spontaneity to compose artwork of multiple mediums as well as many beautiful commission art pieces for customers internationally. Her commission pieces are created from one or more images that the customer has chosen to blend together to form a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

Ilene Richard (Studio 11) is a fine art painter working in acrylics and mixed media. Her fun playful work is available for commissions, prints on paper and canvas.

Also on view (outside Studios 5 and 13), are select works from Marney Schorr’s musical gouache on paper series, ‘Take Five (and all that Jazz)’ . Marney is also showing new abstract works on both paper and canvas. Prices range from $75 to $300. Prints and notecards are also available for purchase. Visit our display tables and learn more about Marney’s new book, ‘When Art Saves Lives’ with Jessica Kingsley Publishers, available for purchase on Amazon.com.
